Navan (/ˈnævən/; Irish: an Uaimh) is the county townof County Meath in Ireland. In 2011, the town and its environs had a population of 28,559; making it the 5th largest town, and 10th largest urban settlement, in the Republic of Ireland.[1]Navan is a Norman foundation: Hugh de Lacy, who was granted the Lordship of Meath in 1172, awarded the Barony of Navan to one of his knights, Jocelyn de Angulo, who built a fort there from which the town developed.
the day started in bright sunshine, why - summer is just around the corner, and the padyak boys are just as eager to flex their legs and kick those muscles that have become dormant from the winter past. and just as the lads zoom their way past the scenic sights of Navan, a slight drizzle refreshes their faces - no surprise, this is Ireland, where you can experience all 4 seasons of the year in less than a day!
and true to its gaelic tradition, the heaven pours, just after the chaps once again slain the castle of Slane, on their way to conquer the hill of Tara once and for all. but alas, the celtic gods in heaven are not done yet, they are not giving up without a fight! from their mighty arsenal nature provided them, they bombarded the lads with water cannons, sleet and hail - yes, like the sharp arrows of Paris that brought down Achilles, sharper than the sting of the bees.
quivering and crying foul, but receiving no mercy, the wounded padyak boys continued their assault until they finally achieved their goal, shivering in a cold, wet summer noon on the grounds of Tara. but the lads are no less valiant than the english conquerors of the gaels, Cromwell their leader maybe, and stubborn as the irish are, they continued for more glory.
at this time the heaven opens, even before the vanguards of Skryne were brought to their knees, in a show of complete surrender to the courageous, dauntless, fearless and bold padyaks of Navan, Dublin, Swords, Dundalk and nearby kingdoms. unopposed, the blokes contended themselves with poses for FB and friends, selfies and all, and ended the day rummaging the kitchen of Xris - food, drinks, coffee, and even bike washes. sa aming super bait na hosts sa Navan, Xris and the lads - daghang salamat!
did an 80km spin yesterday using an old rusted city bike from the scrapyards of cyclebike (own bike was stolen more than a month ago) with the padyak boys of PSI in their minted super smooth machines. sorry for dragging you down guys, it's all Tony's fault, he brought me along with my pamalengke ride.
it was a remarkable experience though, like you are being washed in a slow cycle wash mode of a samsung washing machine in warm water courtesy of the bright late spring sun, then rinsed with cold pouring rain punctuated with sleet and hail along the way, and finally blown dry by the afternoon sun in the hills of the castles of meath.
2 naps brandy from Xris finally ended the day.
looking forward for more spins lads!
